Liturgy means the work of the people.
We know it can be overwhelming to come to a church for the first time, so here is a little bit about what inspires our community and what you can expect on a Sunday morning.
Each Sunday we invite people into the rhythms of worship through ancient and beautiful practices that shape us and prepare us for everyday life with Jesus and others. Another word for these sacred rhythms is “liturgy.”
Once you hear the church saying “The Creed” together, you know you’ve made it to the end!
The service consists of...
… music, prayers, scripture reading, a sermon, and communion. Once you hear the church saying “The Creed” together, you know you’ve made it to the end!
We are then sent as God’s cooperative friends, empowered to be people of peace amongst those whom we live, work and play.
At The Abbey, we are formed by being immersed in God’s Story, and by the constant presence of the Holy Spirit in prayer and praise; preparing us to meet Jesus at the table he invites us to each week.
