Welcome friend.

Peace be with you.

Get to know us

God chose never to be, except to be with us.

This changes everything—how we relate to God, to ourselves, and to each other. It means loving your enemies remains as radical today as when Jesus first taught it. And it means God calls each of us his friend—all of us. Learning to love includes learning to love ourselves—even the parts we struggle to accept. We cannot worship God completely without you. Your presence matters. Whether you join us or not, we hope you experience God’s presence and love. But if you want to explore this invitation with us, we’d love to meet you.

People gather outside a building with a sign that reads 'Restoration Abbey.' The building has brick and white walls, large windows, and a metal framework on the roof. A silver car is parked in front, with some outdoor seating and trees nearby.

What’s an abbey?

Abbeys began as intentional communities established next to local towns offering sanctuary and solitude for the weary.

Abbeys incorporated all parts of life, spiritual, economic, and relational, in the pursuit of peace-filled wholeness.

An abbey’s story was interwoven between the community of faith and the people they loved in neighboring cities and towns. We think that these relationships, this “being with,” is at the heart of the gospel.

Since our inception, we’ve wondered, what would a modern day abbey look like here in San Marcos? What would be some distinguishing features of people who were part of this community?

We Meet Together In Our Neighborhoods.

Parish groups are designed for us to explore what God is up to in our neighborhoods by connecting people living in proximity with one another over shared meals and friendship.
